It's A Mystery productions are flexible enough for almost any occasion. Our talented actors adapt to performance venues ranging from church basements, to luxury hotels and deluxe convention spaces. And our original mysteries can fill an evening, or serve as an addendum to an established program. Elements of intrigue, suspense, drama, and loads of comedy ensure that the show has broad appeal. Whether a person wants to roll up their sleeves and wrestle with the clues, sit back and laugh at the characters, or socialize with other guests, it's almost impossible to attend a performance and not leave with great memories. How does a murder mystery work? Most often, a mystery will take place over the course of dinner. Beginning with the cocktail phase, guests are immersed in a world where suspense is heightened and rumors abound. Usually, the crime happens before the salad and entrée are served. Clues and physical evidence are passed out for examination. Guests are encouraged to ask questions of the suspects to follow-up on their hunches. After dinner and prior to dessert, the plot twists and passions overheat - things that seemed obvious are instantly transformed to impossibility. Everything builds to ask the question- WHODUNIT?! As the guests enjoy dessert, they are asked to turn in the guilty party. Then, the crime is solved before their very eyes!! Even in the world of Murder Mystery...Crime Doesn't Pay. What does 'It's A Mystery' include? It's A Mystery will provide event programs, clues, solution ballots, whodunit note sheets, and coordinate with the host-site, and your caterer to develop a timeline to ensure that your guests are being fed or entertained at all times. Our shows can be adjusted to fit into most agendas, with the regular running time being 2½ - 3 hours Can you include our people in the show? Absolutely! All of our shows encourage guests to get as involved as they feel comfortable. When you provide us with a 'Hit List' we'll gently roast some of your guests. The actors are very skilled and are good at "reading" people to know if they want to interact or not. Is It's A Mystery available to travel? Though based in the Quad Cities on the Iowa/Illinois border, It's A Mystery has traveled up to three hours from home. The company would consider any proposal to travel for a performance, but additional fees and/or charges may apply. How much does it cost?
